Hi! Thanks so much for visiting The Dread Shed Dreadlocks (TDSD).
TDSD was created many, many years ago from a little dreadlock making set up I had in a converted shed I was living in around Byron Bay (Australia), and it has now grown into a wonderful and supportive community of professional dread makers that can be found Australia wide.
You can read more about me on this site, but in short Im a travel addict and dread lover first and foremost. I am also a qualified therapist & life coach, yoga teacher and Im trained in a variety of healing techniques. I am a big lover of nature and animals and have lived a vegetarian lifestyle since I was a teenager, and more recently have become completely vegan. I have been making dreads for around 30 years.
I realised a long time ago that my interests were widespread and doing 'one thing' would never satisfy me, so I have created my life to accomodate for that. I also knew that working a mainstream job would never suit me, so I created TDSD, which then also evolved into a training course for others who had similar ideas about work and life as I do.
My goal with TDSD has always been to keep the course price low so that (hopefully) anyone who wanted to create their own business making dreads could do that. The training course is professional and comprehensive, and the process of training is very supportive. The videos in the training were created on a low budget so as to keep the cost of the course as low as possible, but they definitely do the job of showing people exactly what they need to learn.
Since beginning the course in 2011 I have trained almost 100 students. That is almost 100 people who now have a skill that they can use for the rest of their lives to earn money, and that gives me immense joy.
TDSD community is a wonderfully supportive and ever-growing group of professional dread makers. If you love dreads and would like to join us please go here to find out more. If you just want to find a fantastic dread artist in your area, please go here.
Thanks again for visiting, and best of luck with your own journey.
Big love,
Sam
